The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) opened in June 2004 marking a new era in conferencing on the Gold Coast and leading the “next generation” of convention and exhibition centres in Australia. The GCCEC is the Gold Coast’s first and only purpose built convention centre, and Australia’s largest regional convention centre. |
In it’s first 18 months of operation the GCCEC won a bevy of prestigious awards such as Best Catering 2005 by the Restaurant and Caterers of Australia, Best Meeting Venue over 500 Delegates 2005 by Meetings & Events Australia, Event of the Year 2004 by Meetings & Events Australia, and on an international scale the GCCEC was a finalist in the AIPC Awards 2004.Conveniently located in Broadbeach, the GCCEC is a five minute drive from the main tourist hub of Surfers Paradise, a one hour drive from Brisbane Airport and a 20 minute drive from Gold Coast Airport.

The GCCEC is joined to five star Conrad Jupiters Hotel and Casino by a covered walkway. A monorail link connects to the five star Sofitel Hotel and the Broadbeach shopping and dining precinct featuring over 60 cafes and restaurants. The pristine Gold Coast surf beaches and Pacific Fair shopping centre are within easy walking distance of the centre. The GCCEC features a Main Arena, Exhibition Halls, and Meeting Rooms catering for 10 to 6000 delegates and all types of events, eg. meetings, dinners, launches, awards, concerts, exhibitions, sports, etc. A 3,000 square metre extension is planned. |

The Arena (auditorium) seats 6,000 while the ground floor can cater for banquets for up to 3,500 delegates. The centre features a 3,000 square metre Exhibition Hall. The Arena and foyers can also be integrated with the Exhibition Hall to achieve 7,000 square metres of ground floor exhibition space catering for over 400 exhibition booths. The centre also features an external deck offering an additional 900 square metres of space along with 2,000 square metres of parkland making both areas ideal for outside events. The centre also offers an event planners area and entertainer’s area. Optimum flexibility is achieved with the use of operable walls that can divide the Arena into three spaces, Exhibition Hall into two spaces, Central Rooms into three spaces and Meetings Room 5 to 9 into smaller or larger spaces catering for concurrent sessions, or two conferences in-house. |
